Teacher of the Year Award for Excellence in Secondary School Science or Math Education

The Science or Math Teacher of the Year Award is intended to honor examples of outstanding teaching at secondary schools in South Carolina. Nominees should excel at leading students through the process of scientific inquiry in the classroom and by participation in science fair or research grant activities. Nominations and a minimum of one letter of reference will be accepted from principals, science/math coordinators, colleagues, parents, or former students. Nominations from currently-enrolled high school students will not be accepted. After nominations and recommendation letters have been received, each nominee will be asked to submit a biography to the selection committee for evaluation. The biography template is available here.

The winner will receive a $500 award, a plaque, and recognition at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Sciences.
